So who are we, and what are we hoping to achieve, when there are a lot of other places you can go for information about SOA (many of which we'll be linking to)?

This wiki is hosted by Nick, top dog at Toast Technology, an Adelaide IT consulting firm. Nick has both a personal and a professional interest in SOA - it forms part of his company's service offering and a large slice of his professional experience.

Nick has initially been joined by Ric, a corporate warrior in information technology and innovation for longer than he cares to remember, currently working in the wine and spirit industry. For Ric, SOA has been an enabler of innovative business capabilities (PDF), as well as an abiding interest.

Despite the obvious professional interest, what we really want to do here is make this wiki a useful place for SOA practitioners in particular, where we can swap war stories, successes and failures. While we are not averse to seeing vendor representatives here, we are especially interested in sharing with the people doing this stuff - the architects, analysts, developers and administrators who work with the architecture and its myriad software incarnations. What we don't want is somebody selling to us (even Nick!) - this is an information exchange, not a marketplace.
